Why I Write

When we are thinking, the window for reflection upon our own thoughts is fleeting - within seconds the next one comes racing in. It is easy to read something and, after a short period of deliberation, purport to understand it. Confusion is not so easily disguised when transcribing these thoughts down because we confront our account of a subject for a sustained period of time. For this reason, writing is as much about communicating with yourself as it is with others.
